English Garden and a whole lot of churches
Today Beth and I went to the English Garden, one of the world's largest urban public parks.
For lunch, we could have had fish grilled on the stick, but we opted for Kartoffelsalat, Schnitzel, and Kirschestrüdel at the Chinese Tower Beer Garden. Siegestor I spent the afternoon visiting a few of the many amazing churches in Munich.
St. Ludwig's Frauenkirche St. Michael's Door handle Asamkirche St. Peter's And the view from the top of the St. Peter's tower (306 steps!)

Castles by bus
Today we took a bus tour, because I wanted to see some castles and didn't want to rent a car and drive.
We drove by Schloss Hohenschwangau: We walked up to Neuschwanstein, but horse-drawn carriage is an option: Schloss Neuschwanstein (no photos allowed inside): Schwangau Picnic lunch on the walk back down to the bus: Our stop in Oberammergau was cancelled, but here's one of the buildings we drove by in the pouring rain: Schloss Linderhof (which also did not permit photos inside) Neptune Fountain, Schloss Linderhof

Nymphenburg Palace
Landed in Munich this morning after a red-eye from the East Coast. Beth met me at the airport, and after dropping off my luggage at her apartment, we made our way to Nymphenburg Palace.
The Great Hall:

And after the palace, a stop downtown for "bubble tee"

Is This Thing Still On?
It's been a few years since I've taken a big trip! So many that I in fact forgot about this blog, so this next batch of posts is going to be light on text and backdated, just in time for the next trip.
